These rules do not just apply to a move out of state. A move within the state, such as from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs, is also prohibited without consent or an Order.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Circumstances Justifying a Change of Locale<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The law recognizes that circumstances can occasionally necessitate a relocation. For example, a parent might be transferred by an employer to another city or state, or desire family support in another location. The law also recognizes that there can be compelling reasons to deny a request to relocate \u2014 most times, one parent will not have as much contact with the children as he or she previously enjoyed if the other parent takes the children out of the immediate geographical area.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Custody Modification and Enforcement<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Beattie, Westmont &amp; Simpson, LLC, we work with both custodial and noncustodial parents to protect their rights in matters of relocation.
